    Peltier: Utah Groups Seek Clemency for Activist Convicted of Killing Agents
     THE SALT LAKE  TRIBUNE
    More than 25 sign-carrying protesters called for the release of American Indian activist Leonard Peltier from prison Saturday at the City-County Building in Salt Lake City.
    Peltier, 56, was convicted of the June 26, 1975, shootings of two Federal Bureau of Investigation agents on South Dakota's Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. He is serving two consecutive life sentences in the federal prison at Leavenworth, Kan.

    Money orders sent to the Grass Roots Oglala Lakota Oyate will be distributed (or paid on account) for those in need of heating assistance.  In effect we will be creating a "voucher" system.  Your donation may be of any amount and several put together to meet minimums necessary for orders.
